Project funded by Executive Decree No. 7379 of 9 April 2026 under the Public Call “PR FSE+ 2021–2027 – Activity 1.a.15 – Supporting transitions towards stable, high-quality employment in the live performing arts – Residencies for the Performing Arts”, approved by Executive Decree No. 8214 of 18 April 2025.
The Call is funded through the resources of the Tuscany PR FSE+ 2021–2027 and is part of Giovanisì, the Tuscany Region’s project supporting young people’s independence and autonomy.
Compagnia degli Istanti (formerly Compagnia Simona Bucci), in partnership with La CAP Re|Hub, is launching a selection process for 6 participants for TRANSIRE, a free, residential advanced training programme for young contemporary dance artists aged between 18 and 35 who are interested in developing artistic, creative, organisational and professional skills aimed at entering the professional world of the live performing arts.
Transire, from the Latin trans-ire, “to go beyond”, is a journey of artistic and professional growth that brings together research, experimentation, training, mentoring and exchange with industry professionals, providing practical tools to strengthen and consolidate each participant’s artistic identity.
In the context of the performing arts, developing skills also means learning to recognise and shape one’s own voice. TRANSIRE aims to create the conditions for each participant to deepen their research, experiment, and gain greater awareness of their own artistic and professional path.
The project takes the form of an artistic residency structured into five modules:
Cultivating Doubt · Immersing · Venturing Forth · Delving Deeper · Revealing
Five stages of a single journey weaving together choreographic practice and research, improvisation and composition, dialogue with other artistic languages, and an exploration of the different professions within the performing arts.
The modules will be led by leading teachers, artists, professionals, and mentors of national and international standing, including: the project’s artistic directors Simona Bucci (Artistic Director of Compagnia Simona Bucci/Compagnia degli Istanti) and Silvia Giordano (Artistic Director of La CAP Re|Hub), Emanuel Gat (choreographer and Artistic Director of Emanuel Gat Dance), Milena Ugren Koulas (choreographer, Stylish Junkies Collective), Françoise Parlanti (choreographer and performer), Emese Nagy (performer and choreographer, MA•ZE), Robert Bozarth (Feldenkrais Method), Emanuele Sinisi (scenographer and set designer), Davidson Jaconello (composer and sound designer), VIDAVÈ Company (Artistic Directors Noemi Dalla Vecchia and Matteo Vignali), LUCIA (curatorial platform and screendance magazine), Elisa Frasson (researcher and lecturer, PhD, University of Roehampton; co-founder of LUCIA), Giada Masi (costume designer), Rossella Menna (theatre scholar, essayist, and dramaturg), Dario Nardini (anthropologist and researcher, University of Padua), Marika Errigo (performing arts management), Omar Nappini (art historian, MAD – Museo dell’Albero d’Oro, Lucignano), Erika Poletto (dancer and teacher), Valerio Alfieri (lighting designer), Alessandro Marzotto Levy (performer and choreographer), and Martina Rafanelli (videomaker), with further prominent figures from the contemporary arts scene to be announced.
The residential dimension is an integral part of the experience: sharing spaces and working time encourages exchange, dialogue, and the development of artistic and professional relationships.
The programme will culminate in a public presentation of the work developed by the participants. In addition to the general public, artistic directors from theatres, festivals and companies, as well as professionals from the performing arts sector, will be invited to the final event, creating a valuable opportunity for participants to meet and engage directly with the professional world.
Applications must be submitted by 11:59 p.m. on 10 October 2026 and must include, in addition to the application form specified in the Call, a valid identity document, CV, motivation letter, two performance photographs, and a link to a recent video.
