Project funded by Executive Decree No. 7379 of 9 April 2026 under the Public Call “PR FSE+ 2021–2027 – Activity 1.a.15 – Supporting transitions towards stable, high-quality employment in the live performing arts – Residencies for the Performing Arts”, approved by Executive Decree No. 8214 of 18 April 2025.
The Call is funded through the resources of the Tuscany PR FSE+ 2021–2027 and is part of Giovanisì, the Tuscany Region’s project supporting young people’s independence and autonomy.
Compagnia degli Istanti (formerly Compagnia Simona Bucci), in partnership with La CAP Re|Hub, is launching a selection process for 6 participants for TRANSIRE, a free, residential advanced training programme for young contemporary dance artists aged between 18 and 35 who are interested in developing artistic, creative, organisational and professional skills aimed at entering the professional world of the live performing arts.
Transire, from the Latin trans-ire, “to go beyond”, is a journey of artistic and professional growth that brings together research, experimentation, training, mentoring and exchange with industry professionals, providing practical tools to strengthen and consolidate each participant’s artistic identity.
In the context of the performing arts, developing skills also means learning to recognise and shape one’s own voice. TRANSIRE aims to create the conditions for each participant to deepen their research, experiment, and gain greater awareness of their own artistic and professional path.
The project takes the form of an artistic residency structured into five modules, led by highly regarded teachers, artists, professionals and mentors from Italy and abroad:
Cultivating Doubt · Immersing · Venturing Forth · Delving Deeper · Revealing
Five stages of a single journey weaving together choreographic practice and research, improvisation and composition, dialogue with other artistic languages, and an exploration of the different professions within the performing arts.
The residential dimension is an integral part of the experience: sharing spaces and working time encourages exchange, dialogue, and the development of artistic and professional relationships.
The programme will culminate in a public presentation of the work developed by the participants. In addition to the general public, artistic directors from theatres, festivals and companies, as well as professionals from the performing arts sector, will be invited to the final event, creating a valuable opportunity for participants to meet and engage directly with the professional world.
Applications must be submitted by 11:59 p.m. on 30 September 2026 and must include, in addition to the application form specified in the Call, a valid identity document, CV, motivation letter, two performance photographs, and a link to a recent video.
